Israel Might Kill Arafat
Vice Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday that killing Arafat is a possibility. Whilw I have no moral objections to killing Arafat, I am not sure what this will gain Israel. It seems wiser to me to cut his phone lines and ban all visitors. This will reduce his effectiveness, but engender fewer problems. Killing Arafat seems even less like a good idea given that he is 74 years old and shakes like an alcoholic with DT. If he were 40, there would be much more urgency in taking him out; it's unfortunate that this wsn't done 35 years ago. Now, I would recommend keeping him isolated and keep building the fence.
