People Don't Like Paying Taxes
Apparently, in Massachusetts, a ballot initiative to raise state taxes was defeated, but compassionate conservatives wanted to give bleeding-heart do-gooders a second chance to contribute to the common good. Instead of raising taxes, they added a voluntary check-box that would allow people to pay the higher tax rate, if they so chose. Apparently, 0.03% of taxpayers have opted for the higher tax. My question is, what happened to everyone who voted to raise taxes on everyone else? They are good enough to confiscate other people's money, but not good enough pony up themselves? Or does no one who voted in favor actually pay taxes?
