Palestinian Prisons
"Arab prisoners beaten and tortured, innocent bystanders killed by gunfire - another damning human rights report. But the difference this time is that the violence is being perpetrated not by coalition forces in Iraq, but by the Palestinian Authority, and the victims are its own people."

This story describes some horrid torture by the Palestinian Authority, in a lot more detail. I'm not bringing this up to say the Abu Ghraib abuse is OK, because it's not. But I do mean to say that the outrage we hear about is highly selective. The report says "people on the payroll of Yasser Arafat’s Palestinian Authority (PA) blamed for 90 per cent of gangland violence." The CPA doesn't even compare.

One interesting part of this story is the reaction from Europeans. "Although it [the Palestinian Human Rights Monitoring Group] has been strongly critical of Israeli treatment of Palestinians, its criticism of the PA has seen its funding by European governments slashed." See, Europeans have no interest in protecting Arabs from murder. They only want a weapon to use against Israel. We have the same research group, advocating for the same people, but when there is no anti-Israel angle, European governments move to squash them. Absurd.
